A Historic Milestone in Collaboration with IIT Bombay's e-Yantra Initiative
Jabalpur, March 10, 2025 - The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (E&TC) at Jabalpur Engineering College has inaugurated its "IoT & Robotics Lab" in collaboration with IIT Bombay's e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI).
Equipped with microcontrollers, FPGAs, sensors, actuators, & more, the laboratory provides students with hands-on experience in electronics, embedded systems, robotics, & IoT, bridging the gap between theory & practice. The lab will also host MOOCs & workshops from IIT Bombay.
The concept of this lab was first envisioned by final-year students Sarthak Jain, Pradosh Urmaliya, and Sanskar Jain and was supported by Principal Dr. P.K. Jhinge, Vice Principal Dr. Rajeev Chandak, and Head of Department Dr. Bhavana Jharia. With the continuous and sincere efforts of Dr. Kanchan Cecil, eLSI Coordinator and Team Leader, this vision became a reality, leading to the successful establishment of the lab.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Rajeev Chandak (Principal, JEC), Dr. A.K. Sharma (Dean Academics), Dr. Bhavana Jharia (HoD, E&TC), Dr. A.K. Buchke (HoD, MT), Dr. Kanchan Cecil (eLSI Lab Coordinator & Team Leader), Prof. Namrata Sahayam (Team Member), Prof. Devendra Kumar Meda (Team Member), and other faculty members, with Prof. Kavi Arya (Principal Investigator, e-Yantra, IIT Bombay) joining online along with representatives from various IITs & IIITs.
The IoT & Robotics Lab marks a significant milestone for the institute, fostering innovation, research, & skill development while preparing students for the evolving landscape of technology & automation.
